I think I just realized something really cool about this. The relationship between Qbert and Yellow is really similar to the relationship between Second Coming and The Animator. Both friendships started with fighting, that ended when one realized the other's motivation. Character wise, Yellow is the new Second Coming. I could imagine Second Coming and Yellow could develop a close friendship because of this.

Mixing the games together really reminds me of sprite rip games like I Wanna Be The Guy and all the fangames that followed, as well as the Distorted Travesty series. I'm really fond of the idea for whatever reason. Guess I'll also take the time to say that Distorted Travesty 3 is great and it's free, due to its nature.
A friend just introduced me to the fact that there is a whole SERIES of these now, and I am DELIGHTED by the new turn! The original ones were so amazing but also kinda sad since both the animator and the stick figures could be jerks, but the new crew is so nice and still kick butt but also find wholesome solutions to problems. It's the best of both worlds and makes this my new favorite feel-good AND actiony animation series :D Can't wait for more!

Alan genuinely has the most powerful computer in the whole world for running at least three emulators at once, context-generated physics (with sound) and up to about 100 individuals based on human knowledge with self-learning algorithms. I'm not just gonna take the idea as just part of the fun and not massive lore Okay, so I know it's not just Alan's computer. Maybe we could have a conspiracy or some sort of coverup...like most computers and devices are much more powerful than many independent software/hardware developers have caught of yet. I can't imagine the sheer amount of complexity the virus must have (it made Alan's computer get really hot while Alan's first computer getting destroyed by TCO and TDL didn't), but since it actually _lost_ it's clearly not very smart (you can see on Two Minute Papers how smart agents actually behave - they can do senseless incomprehensible things to achieve their goal). Whatever, there's _something_ going on here and it'd be really exciting if we got to know more about it.

Don't even want to imagine what the heck is going on in ViraBot to get his computer to 90ยฐ, when it can only even destroy anything by employing the physics for destruction rather than just straight-up hacking

Alan always know how to make a story where everyone ends up as friends without making it too boring or childlike. No dialouge helps with this, but its still neat how he does this!

I really love how Alanโs sort of โdefinedโ each stick figureโs interests aside from the Minecraft episodes, Yellow still retaining his engineering/coding/prog-ramming side to him when he was making the arcade emulator. Will we get to see more of Blue, Red, and Greenโs interests flourish with FUTURE โAnimator Vsโ episodes? Iโd love to see what happens further down the line!

I don't think this fully applies, because it's still very, very explicit. There is a ton of telling. Just not with spoken words. When a stick figure holds their head, it can still be saying "oh no!!". It's still spoken. It's not subtext. It's very explicit. When a stick figure points towards something, it's basically saying "look at this!". Sure, it's not spoken but it is not "show don't tell". It's clearly told. It's not inferred by the audience subconsciously. It's like saying that sign language is show don't tell when it is a fairly clear language, just without sound. Certain gestures are tells and certain gestures are shows. If you analyze the animation from start to finish, you'll see that there is a lot of tell. The easiest way to separate the two is with command gestures like "attack!" or "what is this?". Usually when gesturing in the presence of others. I'm not bashing him btw. I personally don't see a problem with telling things explicitly. It's just as valid a form of communication albeit easier in terms of craft. "Show don't tell" is a suggestion, not a mandate for quality. And I agree it is done fairly well here. I love these animations. Just remember that "tell" does not mean spoken language. It can be any form of explicit communication. When a cop tells his body to go check a room without saying a word but making a gesture, it's a "tell". But the looks on their faces, the framing of the scene, the colours, etc, are all "shows" because it's almost impossible to "tell" that without being extremely forced and awkward. If you choose to have a character say "I'm scared" rather than show it, you better have a good reason for doing that or you essentially lower the quality of your craft. Sorry for the tiny rant. Maybe you already know all this and just wanted to praise the "show" aspects of the animation. I don't know. Just thought I would be interesting for those who have never thought about this idea when it comes to non-spoken storytelling and that "show" is just a suggestion and does not stand above "tell" in any absolute way. Context matters.

I absolutely love how instead of PacMan's waka waka sound constantly being heard when they are walking, it's just reserved for collecting the pellets. I mean don't get me wrong I love PM and it's sound design but the waka can get on the nerves after a while :p Edit: I love the small detail of MarioBros Mario looking at Pauline nervously, considering the fact he was already with/knew Peach in MB

Alan has quite possibly found the most effective loophole in the entire algorithm of ILaward. He receives an adequate amount of popularity relative to the quality of his videos (which are extremely statisfying whilst also being qualitative and entertaining), but the short intervall of time between the publication of a video and the sudden explosive virality is just extreme. But he deserves this and I am very glad, that his videos have gotten so popular.
